We Know What To Do

Recently I have been pursuing many improvements in my life through reading and seeking information online and through other sources. There are a lot of good ideas and sources out there with excellent points that are inspirational and make logical sense. When I'm reading them I feel like this is the passage or piece of information that will finally push me over the edge toward taking massive action toward my goals. I say to myself that with this information I will finally have the necessary motivation and desire to not just know what I want to do in my mind, but to take the necessary physical steps to make it a reality! The truth is, for myself and many other people, this is as far as it goes. The idea fades away and so does the determination to act on it. Daily life takes over and we fall once again into the familiar routines because they are the path of least resistance. Our action gets put off for a few minutes, then a few hours, then a few days........until we forget about it altogether. We might even eventually tell ourselves that "I was never going to be able to do that anyway.....what a stupid idea. No one would take me seriously anyway. I'll leave it to the people with more resources, money, support, talent, intelligence, and opportunity. I should stick with what I know and quit all this nonsense." Maybe you can relate to this, maybe not. But I'm confident that may people can, including myself.

It seems that the more I read information and recommendations from "successful" people, the more I realize that I already know most of the information and points of view provided. Don't get me wrong, there are some great strategies provided to change thinking and to promote action, but more often than not I find that the message provided is something that I've already been thinking for years, but for whatever reason this philosophy has not made it's way into my life. It's like I've been waiting for some successful figure to confirm it for me before I act. We are bombarded by so many messages from so many different sources in our present day society that it's becoming more and more difficult to sift through all of the information and recommendations to determine what's the best path for us to take as individuals with our own personalities and goals. Many of us are relying on gurus and other outside sources to show us the way to success in all of the different areas of life. But what if the goals of the people we are listening to are not the same as our own? Then we will only be led astray.

In the area of health, millions of people know at least a few things they can do and choices they can make in order to become healthier, but they don't act on them. In the area of personal finances, millions of people at least know a few things they should be doing that would help them financially for the future, but they don't do them. In the area of personal development, many people know that there are things that they need to work on in order to become the person they want to be....or just a little better than they are right now, but they don't actively pursue the change. The list goes on and on. Even if we don't know exactly how to pursue these goals

, the information we need to learn in order to better pursue them is readily available through the internet, the library, etc. And it doesn't require spending $10,000 with a guru to find the information we need.

If you've identified even one thing that you can do today that will take you that tiny bit closer to your goals, just do it today....right now if you can! In my opinion that's a thousand times better than reading 30 books on a subject and acting on none of the information that was conveyed.

Be biased toward action, and you'll move steadily closer toward your goals;)
